Interview with film producer and actor Joseph Sernio
Welcome Mr Sernio, we are very excited to have you today and discuss about your work. Who is Joseph Sernio and how did the passion for filmmaking start ?
Joseph Sernio is an award-winning actor who has almost 20 years in the business. He began to study several acting techniques in New York City and Los Angeles. He also started working on off broadway productions. Joe took on the role of Harold by studying some Method Acting.
Joseph Sernio’s previous work:
One of Joe' first jobs was on the long-running CBS daytime drama "As The World Turns". After working on the show for about a year Joe auditioned and landed a role as an ICU orderly on the long-running ABC daytime dramas, "All My Children''. Joe was with the show for a few years while making appearances on several television shows such as "Love Monkey", "Hope & Faith", "Rescue Me" as well as several commercials throughout his early and late twenties. Joe played "Dobson" in the new feature film "The Bastard Sons" starring UFC Champ Frankie "The Answer" Edgar, Kevin interdonato, Malik Whitfield, Roger Mathews, and more.
In 2023 Joe helped write, act, produce and executive produce his Short Film "Loved" where he portrays a crazed plumber Who Risks Both His Career And Prison When He Finds His Wife In Bed With Another Man. A totally different role and look for Joe which to date, has landed him several "best Actor" awards as well as several awards for the film including Best Thriller, Best Cinematography and more from festivals all over the country.

Talk to us about our main character Harold and what is his background leading up to the events of the film ?
Harold has always been a very caring and loving husband. When he finds his wife in bed with another man all of the anger comes out .
’’He Insists That It Is His Moral Obligation To Protect Her From Further Temptations And The Devil. In The Name Of The Church And Its Values He Thinks He’s Protecting His Wife. He Would Give Up His Life To Protect Her’s. To Protect Their Daughter. To Protect Their Family, He Would Stop At Nothing.’’
Talk to us about your film ? How was it created ? Any inspirations ?
The inspiration came from the planning of creating a role for Joe different from his past roles. Joe wanted something where he can show an entirely different side of his acting range and the ability to transform himself into this role. He took on some areas of method acting for this role.
If there was an alternative ending, what would that be ?
I think an alternate ending would be that this has all been a dream or bad nightmare... But as he awakes he finds this nightmare to be true.
What were the preparations for such an intense role ?
Joe took one some method acting for this role where he actually lived in the Joshua tree Desert for a few weeks with a mix of some emotional type training from past acting coaches. He drove from NJ to Joshua Tree CA to prepare. He would use his days in silence with very little to no communication from others until the crew arrived on set the first day of production. We are not 100% sure as we were not told or did not ask, but it has been said Joe was able to get himself into a very dark place by having absolutely 0 communication with anyone at all as he roamed several parts of Joshua Tree and Twenty nine palms CA
Did you and your team face any difficulties while shooting your project ?
We did face a few but to be honest we prepared for months on choosing the right team and crew for this project. We knew it was going to be challenging in the desert with massive amounts of equipment, grip trucks, etc. as well as the heat and performance for such intense roles.. There were a few obstacles as always but nothing we could not get over

What is the message the audience should convey leaving the screening of your film ?
Harold is an unreliable narrator. We take a journey into a deranged man's mind and struggle to decipher between fact and fiction .
Any future projects incoming ? Along with personal aspirations.
We are now in pre-production of our new pilot shooting in the mountains of Colorado. It's a modern day western starring Joseph Sernio and some top billed names. We are set to shoot late August 2023. We will be working with crew from films such as Jaws, Stand By Me, Boogie Nights, Butch Cassidy, and many more.
