Review for Safe Passage (for Sheila)

Experimental, laconic and aphaeretic. Reminding more and more of a museum installation this artistic short leaves a lot to be desired and a lot to be imagined. It should be treated more as a poem than a film. Embroided with heavy symbolism this pandemic film tells a relatable story about loneliness. Although the writing is strong, it is let down by its insufficient audiovisual support. We want to encourage Erin Fussel to risk and bring the emotion from the paper to the screen.
